An institute that evaluates others must be open about how it works. These standards apply to every division.
Independence & conflicts of interest
Because NLPAI both evaluates candidates and provides campaign services, the two functions are separated by policy, by team and by disclosure.
Separate research and commercial campaign teams.
Public disclosure of paid campaign engagements where appropriate and lawful.
Published candidate-evaluation criteria.
Clear identification of commissioned research.
No undisclosed client influence over independent findings.
A correction and complaints process.
Proper protection of survey respondents' personal information.
Evidence standards
Every assessment uses a documented methodology, clearly defined indicators and verified sources. Where numerical scores are used, NLPAI publishes the criteria and explains the limitations of the data. Every publication states its research date, methods, limitations, sources and any funding or commissioning relationship, and carries a confidence rating based on the completeness of the evidence.
A score is an analytical judgement. It is never presented as objective fact simply because it is a number.
Corrections & complaints
Anyone — including the subject of an assessment — may request a correction or lodge a complaint. Requests are logged, reviewed by the Research Ethics & Standards Committee independently of the original authors, and answered in writing. Material corrections are published alongside the original finding with the date of change.
Enquiries submitted through this website are stored securely and used only to respond to you. They are not sold or shared for marketing. Survey respondents' personal information is protected, collected with informed consent, and reported only in aggregate or anonymised form. You may ask for your data to be deleted at any time through the contact form.
